How Often to Clean: Makeup Brushes, Konjac Sponge... | Philosophical Life

Bonjour, my friends!
I'm back yet again with another Clean Life post which is a part of our Philosophical Life program where we try and get our lives together one piece at a time. So we've talked about a lot of things this month and this is actually going to be last but one post for these 30 days but do not worry it's not going anywhere, we'll always have things to talk about. Actually, what do you guys want me to talk about? What things you don't not when and how to clean? Let me know in the comments or write me a short email.

Let's get talking. For this post I chose a very popular theme - Beauty. I think that nowadays most of us use some kind of makeup on our faces and while we learned to choose better quality products we often forget that the tools we're using also need our attention. First of all those are makeup brushes, now there are a lot controversial posts about how often you to clean them so let's get out the way once and for all. Ideally you need to clean them after every use or better say just everyday and for you can use special wipes (as mentioned on the picture above), then you need to deep clean them every week meaning you use a little bit of hair shampoo or micellar water and for the real good clean once a month when you use a special soup and a rubber brush cleaning matt (you buy it at any makeup store). As for beauty blenders and other sponges, I do strongly recommend washing them everyday because these babies can grow a lot of bacteria inside of them and once every 3 months you new replace them and buy a new one. Same goes for konjac sponges (those are soft sponges for your face that you use with your normal soup, helps me a lot with dead skin and good cleanse)  and tooth brushes aka replacing them one every 3 months. Moreover, brushes need to be cleaned with soup and hot water every week.
Now, I'll leave a little description down below so you can see it all more clearly

Makeup Brushes:

  • Light clean - swiping brushes on makeup removing wipe
  • Medium - cleaning them with micellar water or shampoo
  • Deep - using some special soup and rubber matt

Beauty Blender:
  • Light - cleaning it with special soup or micellar water
  • Deep - just replacing it with a new one

Konjac Sponge:
  • Deep - just replace it

Tooth Brush:
  • Light - wash it under hot water with soup
  • Deep - replace it
